A Nursing flash during the Daisy Dash

NHB/NMRTC Bremerton, Washington — in conjunction with National Nurses Week and the Navy Nurse Corps birthday, Naval Hospital Bremerton staff members took part in the Daisy Dash 5K, named after the Daisy Award which recognizes and celebrates extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care given by a nurse. With NHB’s Health Promotion and Wellness aided by the Nurses Association to host the event, runners and walkers took advantage of the warm spring afternoon to leg out support for all nurses with the following female and male runners placing in the top three (Official Navy photos by Douglas H Stutz, NHB/NMRTC Bremerton public affairs officer).

Happy Mother’s Day

From gold to silver at NMRTC Bremerton

NHB/NMRTC Bremerton, Washington — When U.S. Navy Ensign David Tegtmeyer openly expressed that his promotion would happen sooner than later with his department head at Navy Medicine Readiness Training Command Bremerton, the initial assessment was his promotion, certainly highly deserving, would take place in another month or so. There was a slight “let’s wait and see” reaction to the Medical Service Corps officer’s assertion. No more.

Bless the Best at NHB

NHB/NMRTC Bremerton, Washington — Hallowed healing hands…with a heartfelt prayer and a drop of anointing oil, nurses assigned to Naval Hospital Bremerton received blessing from Lt. Cmdr. Solomon Han, command chaplain. “Nurse’s hands are working hands and are instruments of sincere compassion. Nurses use their hands as tools to touch the lives of others,” exclaimed Han.
